Electricity is necessary for the modern society, and is being used as the means of communication as well as the energy source.
Therefore, the field of the electrical engineering has expanded from microelectronics (e.g. LSI) to large-scale transportation systems (e.g.linear motor car). Electrical & electronic engineers play very important roles in society and are required not only to be highly skilled but also to be capable of adapting to new technologies. Students in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering course acquire basic science and electrical engineering skill through lecture and laboratory-based courses. Areas of courses include fundamental electrical circuits, electromagnetism, electronic circuits, electronics covering semiconductor devices, computer and information technology (e.g.digital image processing), control system engineering, and electrical power system engineering. Additional extramural On-the-job Training and thesis research provide opportunities for the development of communication and problem-solving skills. A combination of core courses ensures that students acquire a broad knowledge base, practical skill as well as expertise, those are bases of the leading electrical and electronic engineers.
Since this course is qualified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the graduates of this department who satisfy the required business experience are entitled to the national qualification of chief electrical engineers.
