4月21日から6月30日の約70日間、タイのキングモンクット工科大学ラカバン校から短期留学生を受け入れました。留学生たちは各研究室に所属し、それぞれの専門分野の研究プロジェクトに取り組みました。
また、留学生たちは学内の国際交流活動であるInternational CaféやICPの活動にも積極的に参加し、本校学生と交流しました。これらの活動を通して、お互いの文化や多様な価値観に触れることで、相互理解を深める貴重な機会となりました。
以下、久池井研究室所属の2名の学生の体験談をご紹介します。
Harryさん
While developing the Wall-Turtle project, a wall-climbing robot I encountered unexpected challenges during team discussions. Working closely with my teammates, we pushed through those difficulties to achieve the best possible outcome for the project. After completing the first prototype, a new challenge emerged: sourcing electrical components proved far more difficult than in Thailand, as several parts were harder to find locally. Beyond technical skills, this internship introduced me to Japanese culture in ways I could never have found elsewhere. Over these two months, I made many new friends and made an effort to communicate with them in both English and Japanese. I shared many wonderful moments with my Japanese friends exploring the Kitakyushu area, playing games, having dinner together, and exchanging stories about daily life in Japan and Thailand.
One experience that stood out above the rest was Kyudo. I have always been interested in archery, but Kyudo is something entirely different.
What I have described here is only a glimpse of everything I experienced at NIT Kitakyushu KOSEN. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to take part in this internship. It has inspired me both academically and in my ambition to build a future career in Japan. My heartfelt thanks go to my advisor, my friends, and everyone at NIT Kitakyushu KOSEN for giving me this truly unforgettable experience.
タイのKMITLでロボティクス工学を学ぶ学生として、このインターンシップでは日本人の仲間とのコミュニケーションや協働を通じて貴重な経験を得ました。壁面走行ロボット「Wall-Turtle」の開発では、議論や部品調達に苦労しましたが、チームで協力して課題を乗り越え、期待どおりに動作するロボットを完成させることができました。
また、日本文化にも深く触れることができ、多くの友人と交流しながら、北九州での生活やタイとの文化の違いについて語り合いました。
特に印象に残ったのは弓道です。単に的を射るのではなく、正しい所作や心の在り方を重視する弓道を通じて、集中力や姿勢、禅の精神について学ぶことができました。
この2か月間の経験は、学業面だけでなく将来日本で働くという目標への大きな励みとなりました。指導教員や友人、そして北九州高専の皆様に心から感謝しています。
Daifukuさん
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who made this opportunity possible. From my very first day, I was warmly welcomed by professors, staff, and students. I was especially impressed by how friendly everyone was and how easy it was to make new friends.
One of the highlights of my stay was attending the annual school sports day. I particularly enjoyed the cosplay sprinting race, which was both entertaining and memorable. I also participated in several activities through the English Language Club and the International Café, where I had the opportunity to meet many students and make lasting friendships.
Under the supervision of Prof. Kuchii, I worked on developing an AI system for detecting and troubleshooting defects in manufacturing processes. I would especially like to thank Prof. Kuchii, Ms. Yamada, and my lab mate, Mukai-san, who helped me greatly with translation, communication, and many enjoyable conversations throughout my stay. With their support, I was able to develop a working prototype that I hope future KCT students can continue to improve.
I will always cherish the memories, friendships, and connections I made here. I hope our paths will cross again someday.
この貴重な機会を与えてくださった皆様に心より感謝します。KCTでの70日間を通して、日本の文化や働き方、日常生活について多くを学びました。先生方や職員、学生の皆さんに温かく迎えていただき、たくさんの友人を作ることができました。
特に印象に残ったのは体育大会で、活気あふれる雰囲気やコスプレ障害物競走をとても楽しみました。また、英会話部やインターナショナルカフェの活動を通して、多くの学生と交流し、素晴らしい友情を築くことができました。
研究では、久池井先生のご指導のもと、製造工程の欠陥検出・トラブルシューティングを行うAIシステムの開発に取り組みました。データ収集には苦労しましたが、多くの方々の支援のおかげで試作システムを完成させることができました。特に久池井先生、山田さん、そして研究室の向井さんには大変お世話になりました。
最後に、この素晴らしい経験を支えてくださった皆様に改めて感謝申し上げます。タイへ帰国しても、ここで得た思い出と友情を大切にし、またいつか皆さんとお会いできることを願っています。
